Common questions, straight answers
The things chiefs and treasurers actually ask before they say yes — onboarding, support, integrations, and what happens if you ever want to leave. Still stuck? The help center goes deeper, or just send a note.
Onboarding & migration
How long does setup take?
For a single station with one apparatus and one TV, you can be up and running in under a day. We import your members from a spreadsheet, you wire your CAD feed (Active911), point your TV at the board URL, and you're live. Multi-station and county-wide deployments take longer — we plan it with you.
Switching from PSTrax or a paper system?
We've done this a few times. Send us your current export (PSTrax has a CSV export; paper can be scanned and we'll do the typing) and we'll have it loaded before your first day live. Free as part of onboarding.
Do I have to buy every product to get started?
No. Start with what hurts most — usually Truck Check or the Wallboard — and add the others when you're ready. The bundle discount applies any time you run two or more. See pricing.
Support & response time
How fast do you respond to support?
Email support is included with every plan, and a real person replies — usually the same business day. There's no tier-one queue: the reply comes from the person who wrote the code.
Who's behind this?
An active volunteer firefighter who got tired of the existing software being either expensive, ugly, or both. Firehouse 360 is built and run by one person who actually shows up at calls — not a Silicon Valley team treating fire service as a vertical to extract from.
Is there a help center?
Yes — our help center has step-by-step guides for setup, day-to-day use, and admin tasks. If you can't find it there, email us.
Technical & integrations
We use Active911 already. Does the CAD Board work with that?
Yes — that's exactly how the CAD Board works. You generate a personal refresh token from Active911's developer console (1-year lifespan, free), paste it into the admin panel, and the board pulls alerts and marked-up responders in real time. No extra Active911 license needed.
Can email go out from our department's address?
Yes. Reminders, invites, and agreements send from events@yourdept.org — not from us. Set per-tenant SMTP (or Mailgun) with SPF and DKIM aligned, and members never see "Firehouse 360" in their inbox.
Does it work on phones and station TVs?
Both. The whole app is built mobile-first with glove-friendly buttons for the phone in your turnout pocket, and the Wallboard and CAD Board run full-screen on any TV — plug in a Pi or stick PC and forget about it. A per-TV display token means a stolen URL only kicks out one screen.
Can it sync with Office 365?
Optionally, yes. Department Office can connect to your own Microsoft 365 to keep an Office 365 distribution list matched to your roster — new members are emailable on day one and departed members drop off. You configure it; it's an included option.
Switching, export & data ownership
What if I want to leave? Can I export my data?
All your data — members, certs, training hours, journal entries, custom check templates — is yours and exportable as CSV/JSON any time from the admin panel. We don't lock you in. If you ever leave, we hand you everything and shake hands.
Is my department's data secure?
PII columns (names, emails, SSNs, ID-theft PINs) are encrypted at rest with an application key separate from the database — even a stolen DB backup is unreadable. Two-factor and passkey sign-in are built in, and every action is audit-logged with the actor and timestamp. More in our security overview.
Is each department's data kept separate?
Yes. Every record is scoped to your department; one company never sees another's members, apparatus, or records — even in a county or regional deployment where several departments share the platform.
Didn't see your question?
Ask it directly — a real person replies, usually the same business day.
