Units, area buckets, call types & responses
Tell the board about your department
These four lists let the board recognize and present your dispatches the way your house thinks about them. Each has its own admin page under /cad-board.
Units
On Units (/cad-board/units) define your apparatus and unit identifiers so the board can show which units are assigned to a call.
Area buckets
On Area buckets (/cad-board/area-buckets) group locations into the areas your department uses — for example districts, boxes, or mutual-aid towns. This helps the board organize where a call is.
Call types
On Call types (/cad-board/call-types) define the kinds of calls you run and how each should look on the board. Add a new type at /cad-board/call-types/new, and each type can carry its own alert sound so a structure fire sounds different from a lift assist.
Allowed responses
On Responses (/cad-board/responses) define the responder statuses the board recognizes (for example "responding" or "on scene") so members' check-ins display cleanly.
Spend a little time here up front; once these lists match your department, the board reads naturally for everyone in the bay.
