Alerts

Will it wake me if my phone is on silent?
Yes, if you have granted the Do Not Disturb override in Settings. Dispatches play on the alarm channel, the same one your alarm clock uses. Turn on "full volume on every alert" as well if you sometimes leave the volume down.

Do I get signed out?
No. Your enrolment does not expire while you use the app. Only signing out yourself, or an officer revoking your device, ends it.

I did not get a page but others did.
Check notification permission, the DND override, and your phone's battery optimisation for the app. Send a test page from Settings. Then tell your officer — the department can see which devices have not acknowledged recent pages.

Why did the tone only play once?
"Keep sounding until I answer" is off by default. Turn it on in Settings.

Marking up

Can I mark up with no signal?
Yes. It queues and sends when you reconnect, and the time recorded is when you pressed it.

I marked up by mistake.
Press Change and choose another response. Both are kept in the log, which is the point — it shows what actually happened.

Why do my buttons differ from another department's?
Each department sets its own responses and names them itself.

Location

Is the department tracking me all the time?
No. Sharing is off unless you turn it on, and it stops on its own when your window closes. While you are sharing, a permanent notification says so and has a STOP button. Opening a call does not start any sharing.

What is the difference between the position on my mark-up and sharing?
The mark-up position is a single point recorded when you press a response. Sharing is a moving pin for a set time. They are separate settings.

Who can see my location?
Only your own department, and only while your window is open.

Calls and the map

How long does a call stay under Active?
Your department sets it — an hour by default. An apparatus can also move a finished call to Recent early.

How far back does my history go?
365 days, kept on your phone, so it works with no signal.

Why is a hydrant marked as another department's?
Hydrants and landing zones are shared between departments so the map gets built out for everyone. You can see them and navigate to them; only the department that entered one can edit it.

General

Can I stop using my pager now?
No. The app supplements your department's alerting; it does not replace it. Notifications depend on your phone, the mobile network and services run by Google or Apple, any of which can be delayed or fail. Your department is required to keep its primary alerting running.

Something is wrong with a hydrant or a pre-plan.
Tell the department named on the pin. If it is your own, an officer can correct it in the platform.
