Due/overdue views, settings & roles

The Due view

/checks/due is the single place that totals everything currently due across your department — apparatus checks plus the other scheduled checks in your scope. It is the to-do list the whole crew works from, and it feeds the count badge in the navigation so nothing slips. The As needed view (/checks/as-needed) lists checks that run on demand rather than on a schedule.

Reminder settings & digest modes

Admins configure reminders at Truck Check settings (/checks/settings). Here you set reminder timings and choose how reminders are bundled with the digest mode:

  • New — notify about newly-due items.
  • Daily — roll everything outstanding into a single daily digest, so people get one summary instead of a stream of messages.

Pick the mode that keeps your crews informed without overwhelming their inbox.

Roles

  • user — runs checks, flags problems, and works their due/assigned lists.
  • admin — builds templates, manages apparatus, sets schedules and assignments, and configures reminder settings.
  • super_admin — full control of the module, including the most sensitive configuration.

This split means everyday firefighters get a simple "what do I need to check" experience, while officers control how the program is structured.
