Performing a check
The check runner
When you start a check you land in the runner at /checks/{id} (custom checks run at /custom/check/{id}). The runner walks you through the template section by section. For each item you mark the result — pass or fail, pick a choice, type a number, or add notes — depending on the item's type.
Flagging a problem
When an item is not right, flag it. Flagging does two things: it records the problem on the check, and it raises an alert so the people responsible for repairs and restocking know immediately. This is the heart of Truck Check — a failed item does not just sit in a binder, it becomes an actionable alert.
Autosave
The runner autosaves your progress as you work. If your phone locks, the tablet sleeps, or you get pulled onto a call mid-check, your answers are not lost — come back and pick up where you left off.
Finalizing
- Work through every section.
- Finalize the check to lock it in as the permanent dated record.
- You can print the completion report for a paper file if your department keeps one.
- If a check was started in error, you can cancel it instead of finalizing.
